CNC Machining Services in Huntington Beach, CA

Precision subtractive manufacturing for metals, woods, and composites

Bitform operates in-house CNC machining alongside our 3D printing operation in Huntington Beach, California — a combination most additive manufacturing shops in Orange County simply cannot offer. While other 3D printing services outsource metal work to third parties, we cut chips and print parts under the same roof, giving you faster turnarounds, tighter integration between additive and subtractive processes, and a single point of accountability.

Engineers and product teams from Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, and Anaheim rely on our Huntington Beach facility for CNC-machined prototypes, production parts, and hybrid workflows that combine 3D printing with precision machining. If your project needs both additive and subtractive processes, you've found the right shop.

CNC Vertical Machining Center

Haas VF-2

Industrial 3-Axis Vertical Machining Center

The Haas VF-2 is a workhorse VMC trusted by job shops and production facilities worldwide. With 40 × 20 × 25 inches of travel, a 30 HP vector-drive spindle spinning up to 8,100 RPM, and a 20-station automatic tool changer, it handles everything from aluminum prototype enclosures to steel production fixtures.

The 20-station ATC means complex parts requiring multiple tool changes — face mills, end mills, drills, taps, chamfer tools — run in a single setup without manual intervention. This cuts cycle time and eliminates re-fixturing errors. Flood coolant and through-spindle air blast keep chips clear and tools cool for uninterrupted production.

We also operate smaller CNC machines for detail work, fixture machining, and secondary operations — allowing us to route jobs to the right-sized machine for the best balance of precision and throughput.

Additive + Subtractive

The real power of having CNC and 3D printing under one roof: print a complex geometry in nylon or carbon fiber, then machine critical mating surfaces, bore holes, and threads to tight tolerances. This hybrid workflow delivers parts that neither process could produce alone — and you get them from a single supplier in Huntington Beach.

Materials We Machine

From aerospace aluminum and tool steel to hardwoods and engineering plastics — our Haas VF-2 and supporting machines handle it all.

Metals

Aluminum (6061, 7075)— Most common — lightweight, excellent machinability, anodizable
Steel (1018, 4140, A36)— Structural and tool steel for high-strength applications
Stainless Steel (304, 316)— Corrosion-resistant parts for food, medical, and marine use
Brass— Electrical components, fittings, decorative hardware
Copper— Heat sinks, electrical bus bars, RF components
Titanium (Grade 2, Grade 5)— Aerospace and medical — high strength-to-weight ratio

Non-Metals

Hardwood— Walnut, maple, oak — custom furniture, fixtures, patterns
Softwood— Pine, cedar — structural prototypes, molds, jigs
Acetal (Delrin)— Low-friction gears, bushings, precision mechanical parts
HDPE / UHMW— Chemical-resistant components, wear strips, guides
G10/FR4 Fiberglass— Electrical insulation, structural composites
Carbon Fiber Composite— High-performance panels, drone frames, tooling plates

Surface Finishes

Beyond as-machined — we offer a range of post-processing finishes to meet functional and aesthetic requirements.

As-Machined

Standard mill finish, clean deburring — Ra 1.6–3.2 µm

Bead Blasted

Uniform matte texture, hides tool marks

Anodized (Type II/III)

Protective oxide layer on aluminum — colors available

Powder Coated

Durable colored finish for metals — wide color range

Brushed

Directional satin finish for decorative metalwork

Polished

Mirror finish for display pieces and optical surfaces

Passivated

Chemical treatment for stainless steel corrosion resistance

Black Oxide

Mild corrosion protection with a matte black appearance
