Product Prototyping Services in Huntington Beach, CA
From concept to functional prototype — fast, precise, and iterable
Rapid Iteration from Concept to Reality
Bitform's prototyping services in Huntington Beach, CA, are built for speed. Whether you're an Orange County startup validating a product concept or an established manufacturer testing a new component geometry, our in-house additive and subtractive manufacturing capabilities let you hold a physical prototype in your hands within days — not weeks.
We combine industrial 3D printing (FDM, SLS, SLA) with CNC machining to match the right technology to each project's requirements. Rapid prototyping isn't just about speed — it's about learning fast, iterating cheaply, and arriving at a validated design before committing to expensive tooling. Located minutes from Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and Irvine, we offer same-day pickup for local clients and nationwide shipping for everyone else.
Prototyping Technologies
Four manufacturing methods, each optimized for different prototyping needs.
FDM — Fused Deposition Modeling
Fast Iteration & Functional TestingIdeal for early-stage concept models and functional prototypes. FDM delivers the fastest turnaround with a wide range of engineering-grade thermoplastics including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon, TPU, and carbon-fiber composites. Perfect for testing form, fit, and basic mechanical properties.
1–3 days
Concept validation, jigs & fixtures, functional housings
SLS — Selective Laser Sintering
Production-Grade Functional PartsPowder-bed fusion produces strong, isotropic parts with complex geometries that would be impossible with traditional manufacturing. SLS parts in Nylon PA12, PA11, and glass-filled composites are suitable for end-use applications, snap fits, living hinges, and high-temperature environments.
3–5 days
Functional prototypes, small batch runs, complex assemblies
SLA — Stereolithography
High Detail & Visual PrototypesPhotopolymer resin delivers the highest resolution and smoothest surface finish of any 3D printing technology. SLA is the choice for visual prototypes, detailed enclosures, presentation models, and parts requiring tight dimensional accuracy.
2–4 days
Visual models, presentation prototypes, fine-detail parts
CNC Machining
Metal & High-Performance PrototypesWhen you need prototypes in production materials — aluminum, stainless steel, brass, titanium, or engineering plastics like Delrin and PEEK — CNC machining provides the precision and material properties that additive methods cannot match.
5–10 days
Metal prototypes, precision assemblies, production-material validation
Our Prototyping Process
Five structured steps from file review to finished prototype.
Design Review
We evaluate your CAD files, sketches, or concept description. If you don't have a design yet, our in-house team can create one. We identify potential manufacturability issues and suggest optimizations before any material is cut.
Material Selection
Based on your functional requirements — strength, temperature resistance, flexibility, appearance — we recommend the optimal material and technology combination. We stock over 30 engineering-grade materials for immediate production.
Prototype Fabrication
Parts are manufactured on our in-house equipment in Huntington Beach. Our fleet includes industrial FDM, SLS, and SLA printers alongside 3-axis CNC mills. No outsourcing means tighter quality control and faster iteration.
Testing & Validation
Physical inspection, dimensional verification, and functional testing against your requirements. We document tolerances and flag any deviations before shipping. For mechanical parts, we can perform basic load and fit testing.
Iteration
Prototyping is inherently iterative. We incorporate your feedback, adjust geometry, swap materials, or refine tolerances and produce the next revision — often within 24-48 hours for FDM parts.
